How Fake Deal Spotter grades a price

A short, plain explanation of what goes into an A, B or C price grade, and what does not.

680 live verified deals on wowpriced, every price checked against its source

What we look at

  • Today's price on Amazon.com, including shipping when Amazon charges it.
  • Amazon's list price, when the product page shows one. We show it as plain information.
  • Verified deals on wowpriced for the same product. Every deal we publish had its price checked against its source before it went live.

What the grades mean

  • A, great price: a great price for this product today. Matching a verified deal we published for the same product is one way to earn it.
  • B, good price: a good price today, for example a clear discount from Amazon's list price.
  • C, fair price: a fair price, or not enough price information to say more.

A discount from the list price alone does not earn an A. The grade weighs the price you pay today, not just the “was” price.

What a grade is not

It describes the price, not the product's quality. Fake Deal Spotter does not read, rate or label reviews. A grade is not a promise about future prices, and it never changes the price you pay.

Where prices come from

Amazon's current price and list price, and our published verified deals. Prices and availability can change; the price on Amazon at the time of purchase applies.

Independent, and how we earn

wowpriced is independent of Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, wowpriced earns from qualifying purchases. Our links may earn a commission at no extra cost to you; that never changes a grade.
